Educating Kids
about Guns is an Indiana Project Neighborhoods initiative presented
by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office
•
It consists of a video re-enactment of a shooting at a high
school and the impact it will have on all parties followed by a
frank discussion about the impact of gun violence on the body
•
In the first six months of 2006, more than 535 students at 24
schools took part in a workshop
•
Every public and private schools in Marion County and all
public schools in southern Indiana were sent kits enabling them to
present the workshop at their schools
•
Hundreds of people across Marion County and south of
Indianapolis have been trained to deliver the program
•
Indiana Project Safe Neighborhoods is planning an Hispanic version
in 2008.
